Desola Amos
I was born in England and raised in Nigeria. I have lived most of my adult life in the US, where I had my 6 children, and enjoy my 3 grandchildren. I am a seasoned preschool teacher and have taught for over 20 years, and over the years I have supported moms in labor and delivery.
I’ve always had a passion for supporting women through childbirth. I decided to take the plunge and certified as a birth doula in 2020, and certified as a postpartum doula in 2021. I love to nurture families through the transition in order to welcome a new child into the world.
I am also a certified birth coach and I am available for coaching through the later months of pregnancy, helping expecting parents bring clarity to the vision they have for the mother’s birth experience. I can support new moms to adjust to their new life as a mother by allowing time for rest, giving tips on breastfeeding and supporting bottle feeding, and bonding techniques with the new child. In addition, I am able to support the parents with the baby’s laundry, diaper changing, and general support in the transition to this new life.
I am a great listener and have a compassionate heart. My goal is to come alongside new mothers as not only a support role, but a friend, an extra pair of hands, and a cheerleader.
In my free time I enjoy going on hikes, fellowshipping with other women, and spending time with my children and grandchildren.
